Most classic gamers will remember playing games at the arcade using joysticks. Atari Interactive hoped to help nostalgic fans relive these days by publishing an app for iOS devices. This app is called "Atari's Greatest Hits"
While Atari did their best to recreate the look of the games it was not 100% successful. When push comes to shove the memory of playing classic games cannot be emulated by using a touchscreen iPad or iPhone. Many players longed for the joysticks and buttons of the old Atari games.
The company Discovery Bay Games is planning on resolving this problem by releasing an accessory called "The Atari Arcade - Duo Powered". This fun new toy turns the iPad into an arcade game. It does this by replicating an analog console which has a joystick and buttons.
This item can be purchased from a few different stores. At present it is being stocked by Toys R Us, Apple and Target. The product works by sliding the iPad into a dock and locking the console onto its side. This holds the game securely in place. This is helpful for those who get overexcited while playing a game.
While this accessory will not replicate the old games exactly it is a good substitute. The games can be downloaded for free online. Some people may opt to purchase a bundle of games however this is not necessary as there is a wide range of free games available. Many of the games are replicas of old favorites but there are some new arcade style downloads out there for those who want to try them.
